We tailor our executive search process to your specific requirements. Our process includes:
- Understanding the client’s needs – In conjunction with the client, we determine how the position fits into the overall organization, the organizational culture and strategic goals, and what special needs exist in filling the vacancy.
- Identifying the competencies and attributes necessary – Conducting a review of the position description and performance standards is an essential step in the executive search process. Gaining clarity on the competencies and attributes necessary for successful job performance is key to selecting the right individual. A tailored job description and announcement is developed to target the right audience.
- Networking and screening – Based on the client’s direction, a search will be conducted either to a narrowly targeted audience or to a broader set of potential applicants. Individuals who express interest will be screened in a telephonic interview.
- Narrowing the field – Interested candidates’ qualifications are matched against the position competencies and attributes. Qualifications, career aspirations and cultural fit are considered during this phase. The Carey Group will present a range of individuals to the client for consideration. At this point, a set of behavioral interview questions are prepared specifically addressing position requirements.
- Identifying finalists and checking references – We stand ready to structure the screening and interview process through all levels as well as train your interview panel. We also provide for the scheduling interviews and arrange for travel to the interview site. After the client screens and/or interviews the first list of candidates, we will conduct reference checks at the level identified by the client.
- Interviewing and conducting assessments – If additional behavioral interview questions are required, they will be provided for the final interviews. Appropriate assessments are discussed with the client and administered to the finalists.
- Selecting the successful candidate – If we are part of the interview process, we can provide a summary report and recommendation. We are available to negotiate a salary and benefits package.
